Bordo, Rosamunde

I am exploring how the creation and discovery of the self takes place through relationships, chance encounters, and unknown or unexpected desires. Current work makes use of an enigmatic alter ego named Denise who becomes increasingly more real through artistic interventions and creations, but by the same process of invention is paradoxically more fictitious. ‘The Denise File’ is a work of detective fiction that is written through physical space and material. My installations create mysterious narratives through combining sculpture, textiles, video, drawing, and writing. I seek to create moments of curiosity for the viewer through fragments and by encouraging light detective work or other forms of active participation on the part of the viewer.
