PoMoArts is proud to showcase local, regional, and national artists in our contemporary gallery. We accept gallery exhibition proposals on an ongoing basis and submissions for group exhibitions periodically.

Artist Call: 2026 Ceramic Artist Residency

PoMoArts Ceramic Artist in Residence (CAIR) Residency is a core part of our commitment to nurturing artistic excellence and fostering cultural development in the ceramic arts. Designed for emerging ceramic artists, this 6–7 month residency combines on-site studio practice with mentorship, research, and community engagement, offering a flexible yet immersive experience tailored to today’s creative professionals.

Throughout the residency, emphasis is placed on hands-on making, artistic exploration, teaching, public engagement and includes a solo exhibition. PoMoArts ceramic studios are active, collaborative, and supportive environments that host a wide range of programs, including adult classes in wheel throwing, hand building, and sculpture, as well as youth programs and vibrant student studio sessions.

Artist Call: 2026 Kwi Am Choi Scholarship

PoMoArts is excited to announce applications are now open for the 2026 Kwi Am Choi Exhibition Scholarship for emerging artists! 

Established in 2007, this annual scholarship awards $2,000 to two emerging BC artists (ages 18–32) to support the creation and presentation of a solo exhibition at PoMoArts from July-August 2026. This is an opportunity for recent graduates and current Fine Arts students at recognized Canadian post-secondary institutions, offering funding for new artwork creation, curatorial mentorship, and professional guidance to bring your exhibition to life.

Apply by November 16, 2025 for the opportunity to showcase your work in a public gallery, gain mentorship, and connect with other artists and arts professionals!

Artist Call: TILT/

Referencing a shift in viewpoints, TILT/ is an annual open call group exhibition emphasizing the power of art. We invite artists to contribute diverse perspectives and create immersive experiences across all mediums.

Building from Art 4 Life, this call welcomes painting, drawing, sculpture, installation, video, performance, and a wide range of visual and experimental practices. We are seeking immersive, participatory, and thought-provoking pieces that spark curiosity.

Submission Period: October 1 - November 30, 2025.
Exhibiting Dates: January 22 - March 8, 2026.

Artist Call: Rise - PoMoArts Student Exhibition

PoMoArts is excited to announce the artist call for Rise, our biennial student exhibition for artists at every stage of their journey. Share your 2D, 3D, and performance works to join an exhibition that encourages artistic growth and highlights the talents of the PoMoArts community.  

This call is open to artists of all ages who have taken a PoMoArts class in 2024, 2025, or 2026.

Submission Period: October 1 - April 5, 2025.
Exhibiting Dates: May 14 - July 5, 2026.

Ongoing Exhibition Proposals

PoMoArts has three main gallery spaces on the main floor and hosts many exhibitions each year. This is a public gallery with free admission.

The gallery accepts exhibition proposals year-round, from groups and individuals in all media and subject matter. Proposals are reviewed on a continual basis

Artist Call FAQs

What Should I Submit?

The Gallery at PoMoArts is seeking proposals for group and solo exhibitions featuring a wide variety of artistic mediums, including, but not limited to, drawing, painting, print media, photography, sculpture, ceramics, textile art, digital art, audio/video performance, site-specific installations, and performance art. Proposals including a participatory element are encouraged.

Who Can Submit a Proposal?

Proposals are encouraged from both emerging and established artists and artist groups.

How are Proposals Evaluated?

Exhibition proposals are evaluated based on theme cohesion, relevance, community impact, diversity of mediums, and inclusion of non-derivative artworks.

There is no fee for submitting a proposal.

Ongoing Exhibition Proposals are received and reviewed on a continual basis. For annual artist calls, please seethe posted submission deadlines.

We appreciate all submissions, but only those selected for consideration will be contacted.

All artwork is available for purchase unless indicated, with 30% of all artwork sales retained by PoMoArts and 70% of each sale going to the artist.

If your artwork is not for sale, you may indicate this with “NFS” (Not for sale) on the submission form.
