“Legends live if we continue to share them. Painting them will capture the oral stories.”
Led by artistic intuition and Indigenous legends, Groening works with the physical nuances and spirit of elk skin, deerskin or canvas to begin his creation process. His work documents a journey of healing and growth, as he attempts to revitalize his cultural identity through art making and teaching others.
