We will be offering, ranging from visual arts, ceramics and performing arts as well as interactive projects with the Blackberry Artists Society and POMO Museum, a special musical preview by Ioco Players Theatre, and our 25th Anniversary Exhibitions in our Gallery, there truly is something for everyone! Join us as we pay tribute to the dedicated artists who have carried the title, Ceramic Artist in Residence, since our non-profit society started in 1998. Their artistic styles and techniques are diverse, unified in their passion for pottery as an art form and their caring enthusiasm for sharing this artistic medium with the community.

3:00-4:00pm – Paper Heritage Houses with POMO Museum

The POMO Museum will be leading their Building Community interactive project where you can build you very own replica of a Heritage Home in Port Moody. Decorate you house and find it on the Heritage Map to discover an important part of our history!

Room 2.2 – Young Artists Gallery

3:00-4:30pm – Acrylic Landscape Painting with Homa Khosravi

Homa will make small paintings on an easel while talking about her work and process as a painter. There will be a sample of her finished works on display.

Join in and paint a simple landscape on a miniature canvas!

3:00-6:00pm – Collage with Blackberry Artists Society

Blackberry Artists will lead you through the beautiful techniques of collage with papers images, text, and fabrics on canvas, cards, and postcards.

Room 2.2 – Young Artists Gallery

3:00-6:00pm – Summer Pouches with Homa from The Stitchery

Homa will show you the basics of sewing on a sewing machine while making lovely summer pouches. There will be a sample of her mini-sewing projects on display.

Come make your own summer pouch to take with you everywhere you go! 

Room 1.4 – Pottery Hand-building Studio

3:30-4:30pm – Sculpting Coral: Mature Patterns, and Abstract Form with Malina Sintnicolaas

Malina will demonstrate how clay can be used to create sculptural abstract forms in nature and how hand building can be used to create repetitious patterns. There will be a sample of her finished works on display.

Join in and create your own ceramic coral forms!

Room 1.3 – Pottery Wheel Throwing Studio

3:30-5:00pm – Wheel Throwing Various Forms with Georgia Fitton

Georgia will demonstrate wheel throwing techniques, throwing various forms on the pottery wheel. There will be a sample of her finished works on display.

Join in on one of the two wheels that will be set up and try you hand at wheel thrown pottery!

Room 1.4 – Pottery Hand-building Studio

4:30-5:30pm – Hand-Building Techniques: Mugs or Mini Mugs with Valerie Orsolan

Valerie will demonstrate how to make mugs and pinch pots by hand, without the use of a pottery wheel. There will be a sample of her finished works on display.

Join in and create your very own small mug or tea light with a ball of clay!

Room 2.2 – Young Artists Gallery

5:00-6:00pm – Books & Bookmarks with Patricia Morris

Patricia will be doing hand lettering on various materials. There will be a sample of her treasure books and junk journals on display.

Join in and create your own leather bookmarks!

3:00-6:00pm - ‘24 plays 25’ Techno-Video Installation by Corey ‘24’ Smith

Step into an audio-visual techno experience with a Live PA performance by local artist Corey ‘24’ Smith, also a PoMoArts Board Member.

4:00pm – Jazz Performance by Liam Simpson & Jennifer Hayes

Liam Simpson and Jennifer Hayes will present a 20-minute performance of five delightful Jazz Standards such as Blue Moon, Summertime, Our Love is Here to Stay, Wonderful World, and Dream a Little Dream.

Ioco Players Theatre will perform a sneak peak of various songs for their upcoming show, “Lullaby to Broadway”, a musical theatre concert.
