Artist Statement
I was born in Johannesburg South Africa where I attended School and made many friends who are still close to my heart. I moved to Cape Town to attend Cape Technikon to study Jewellery Design and manufacturing, Graduating four years later as a Goldsmith. It was a marvelous place to learn and I delved into every facet of Jewelry making, from metal, to enameling, casting, mold making, setting, drawing, stone cutting, wax carving, gemology, drawing, design, 3d design, and a whole lot of other wonderful things. I worked in Cape Town as a Jeweler for a few years and then moved on to work for a VFX company for a while. This was a totally different industry, but just as creative. We moved to Los Angeles and started a different journey, one filled with love and laughter (kids are awesome) and now we are in Vancouver! Now that the kids are older, at school, and can dress themselves, (can’t wait for them to be able to feed themselves too!) I am getting back into my Jewelry. Starting slowly with the resources and time I have available, but I am back at it!
