Tracing the Unbound uncovers the connections between time, place, and memory through the eyes of the Port Moody Art Association (PMAA). Featuring sweeping landscapes and intimate portrayals of local features, the exhibition offers reflective interpretations of Port Moody. Each piece tells a story, whether through the lens of the community’s history, by capturing its present, or imagining what lies ahead.
This exhibition showcases original works by PMAA artists, emphasizing the association's commitment to fostering creative development and encouraging awareness and appreciation of art. The PMAA serves as a platform where freedom of expression thrives, ensuring a dynamic connection between artists, their patrons, and the city they call home.

About the Port Moody Art Association (PMMA):
The Port Moody Art Association (PMAA) was originally founded in 1967 by five local artists who wanted to share their passion for painting. The passion for creating art has continued and our membership has expanded. Our club continues to attract new artists with diverse styles and fresh approaches to art. Many teach their craft and have their work in galleries locally and around the world.
The club meets from September to June on Monday nights at the Port Moody Recreational Center on Ioco Road. Meetings are a mix of workshops, demonstrations, and business meetings. PMAA is constantly looking for new ideas, showing venues, and various projects for our members to participate in and over the years has been involved in many activities, events, and projects. On our 50thanniversary the “Heron Mural” was created and is still displayed at the Eagle Ridge Hospital.
We are fortunate to have members artwork displayed at Pasta Polo restaurant on Barnet Hwy, the Port Moody MLA office of Rick Glumac on St. Johns Street, and at the Coquitlam Poirier Library. The artwork is changed every 2 months at each location, giving all members an opportunity to show their work.
PMAA has an annual 2-day show in November and is held at the Port Moody Recreational Center. The show is an extremely popular community event and is attended not only by Tri City residents but by visitors from all areas of the lower mainland. Our club works at maintaining high standards and integrity with all artwork being original. It is a great place to meet the artists and enjoy their creativity through their art.
