A Journey Through Life, Space, and Transcendence, brings together the works of Amy Wiebe Lau, Yasir Ali, and Stephanie Denz, each exploring presence and connection in unique ways. From the natural cycles of life to the interaction of objects in space, and the transcendent beauty of the cosmos, this exhibition invites viewers to reflect on the layers of existence—both tangible and ethereal. Through their exploration of nature, spatial relationships, and celestial themes, the artists encourage contemplation of life's interconnectedness and the balance between the earthly and the cosmic.

Amy Wiebe Lau – Blackcherry Raven / Ann Kitching Gallery
Amy Wiebe Lau is a Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada-based abstract expressionist artist who embarked on a profound journey driven by her curiosity for the wonders of creation. Amy immerses herself in the surreal beauty and intricate design of the abstract from her studio on the unceded territories of the Coast Salish peoples of the Tsleil-Waututh, Musqueam, and Kwikwetlem Nations. Her art explores themes of nephomancy, drawing inspiration from clouds, light, and the chaos between space and beauty. Amy's captivating pieces reflect her awe and admiration for the deep abstract world.
Yasir Ali - Nurtured Growth / Beedie Living Gallery
Yasir Ali is born and raised in Dubai, UAE, Yasir Ali immigrated to Canada in 2010. With an engineering background rooted in structured processes and systems, he discovered abstract art as the ideal medium to express work that is perpetually evolving. Yasir is captivated by boundaryless and rule-free art, which offers infinite permutations and combinations.
Over the past decade, he has been deeply influenced by the humility and fragility of Canada’s northern landscapes, contrasted with his upbringing in the desert heat of the Middle East. His artistic journey is a testament to this duality, serving as a bridge between the two cultures he calls home, and reflecting the familiarities and yearnings that connect them.
Stefanie Denz - Edges of Wilderness / Canadian Pacific Gallery
Stefanie Denz is a painter, installation maker, and member of a collaborative dance group, interested in how things move from one area to another; the relationships between things being in exchange and having influence on each other. This process can also be seen in nature and was something she observed and loved growing up on Vancouver Island and later as a tree planter in BC. The experience of directly connecting with what is in front of her presented a world of details and sensations unique to that place and moment, however mundane. Through painting Stefanie reaches into the edges of nature, from her backyard to local parks, experiencing the variety, chaos, mystery, and emotion of wildered-ness as a realm humans are deeply connected to.
Stefanie Denz lives and works on the unceded territories of the Coast Salish Peoples, grateful to maintain a home and studio on Salt Spring Island. She received an MFA from the University of Auckland (1989) attended two artist residencies in Berlin (2013 and 2014) and currently works as an art therapist in Saanich.
