Kristian Adam is a Canadian artist. His paintings often combine themes of nature and invention from the humorous perspective of animals which he refers to as 'NymNums’. These imagined creatures are what you might expect to see wandering around in his mind all day. Through a variety of techniques inspired by the old masters, Adam creates quirky narratives for his characters to tell. Recurring themes of nature in his work are inspired from his childhood living in the country. Born 1978 in Edmonton, Alberta, Kristian has been making art since he was a child. He studied Fine Art at Grande Prairie College and the University of Lethbridge. His work has been displayed at the Canadian Embassies of Japan, Korea, and China and large events such as the Vancouver 2010 Winter Olympics and Telus World Ski/Snow Festival. His paintings have been featured in books, television and galleries around the world.

Born in the vibrant city of Lagos, Nigeria, Sylvester Aigbogun is a contemporary artist known for his colorful, stylized and thought-provoking paintings. His artistic journey began at Yaba College of Technology, Lagos Nigeria, where he received a Higher National Diploma in Painting. Sylvester has participated in numerous group shows, where his work has been showcased in venues like the National Museum Lagos, Nigeria, and Terra Culture, also in Lagos. In 2020, he expanded his creative reach with a solo virtual exhibition, “Shanty Aesthetics”. Recent exhibitions that continue to highlight his dynamic artistic vision include “October Rain” (2023), “Woven Imaginations” (2024), and "Art Unplugged, Awaken Your Creativity" (2025), a group exhibition at The Gallery George in Vancouver. Sylvester's work is characterized by its rich color palettes, materiality, and the ability to convey deep emotions and narratives. Through his art, he offers a compelling exploration of identity, culture, and the human experience.

Mitsuyo was born and raised in Japan. She has been away from Japan for over 30 years but her appreciation for Japanese culture has grown stronger over the years. When she learned that every year, tens of thousands of kimonos and obis (belts for kimonos) are thrown away, she wanted to do something. Because a kimono is not practical apparel for everyday use, she decided to upcycle and create something people can use in their daily life. She has also created sacred geometric art since 2019.

Papers are imported from around the world to create unique, one-of-a-kind cards which are suitable for framing. Valerie Gilbert creates over 120 designs using color coordinated strips of folded paper which are placed to create a circular design. She also create chiyogami covered notebooks, designer clips, pencils and coasters to add beauty to your home

An Artist and Crafter inspired by nature. She creates assorted designs for needlework projects, often based on drawings and paintings done with watercolour or acrylic. She likes to create 'functional art' (items that can be used) along with wall art. She enjoys upcycling items to create art, as much as finding new materials and threads to embellish projects. When not crafting, she spends time taking courses, photographing nature, reading, travelling spending time with family and volunteering.

Beaded Neko (Allison) is a Métis artist residing in Port Moody which is part of the Kwikwetlem traditional and unceded territory. Beaded Neko blends traditional Metis beadwork with bright colours, modern designs, and a dash of guidance from her ancestors in every piece. Allison is also an Indigenous Youth Worker with SD43 and has a passion for connecting her students with their culture through art like beading.

Beryl Hickinbottom has been weaving for 40 years, and has been a member of local weaving guilds and has taken numerous workshops and courses in Canada and the US. Beryl is a member of the Greater Vancouver Weavers' & Spinners' guild since 1996 and served as President for 2 years. She enjoys weaving colourful garments, accessories & household items, and has sold her products in shops and galleries in Alberta and BC. Beryl is now semi-retired and only sells locally. In 1996, Beryl joined the Blackberry Artists' Society and was a member until 2023. Beryl enjoyed working in the shop and found her weaving was well received by the public.

I have worked with clay for over forty years with the majority of my work being functional. I fire my work in soda or wood kilns and occasionally in a reduction kiln. If I stray off the path of functional work I am inspired by my garden and surroundings. I have taken many courses at Kwantlen University and Shadbolt Centre for the Arts. I am an executive for the Fraser Valley Potters Guild and on the organizing committee for the Clay Symposium.

I’m Allison, an artist and maker based in Vancouver. My work blends illustration, collage, and sculpture to explore everyday magic and moments of curiosity. I love experimenting with both traditional and unexpected materials, from handmade wooden ornaments to risograph zines filled with layered textures and colour. My creations often reflect my travels, community projects, and a playful relationship with nature. Whether it’s a whimsical mushroom mailbox or a print inspired by my sketchbook, I aim to spark connection and delight in the people who encounter my work.

Janet Comer is an interdisciplinary artist, arts instructor, and arts administrator. She holds a Bachelor of Fine Arts Degree in Visual Art from the University of the Fraser Valley. Janet has exhibited works throughout the Lower Mainland and the Interior of BC. She currently lives and works on the traditional and unceded territories of the Katzie and Kwantlen First Nations. Janet’s current practice examines the interplay between identity, memory, sentimentality, and kitsch. Within her work she utilizes found objects and materials that can be found in the craft aisles of various retail outlets. Her work focuses on the exploration of colour, patterning, and ornamentation; often blurring the boundaries between home crafting and so-called “fine” art.

Yolanda’s major area of study in university was 3-dimensional design. Originally from Hong Kong, Yolanda has embraced her home country’s paper cutting and folding tradition and brings her 3-D experience into her 2-dimensional creations. Her art requires intense concentration and attention to detail. Yolanda makes a variety of pieces ranging from framed works, to greeting and fabric cards, and other decorations.

Ysabella Choung is a ceramic artist, graphic designer, and papercut illustrator whose interdisciplinary practice explores the connection between emotion, environment, and abstract form. Her work transforms impressions of everyday surroundings and internal experiences into expressive compositions that merge design precision with artistic intuition. In her ceramics, Ysabella experiments with form, shape, and rhythm, creating pieces defined by punctured patterns, sculptural silhouettes, and dynamic reliefs that invite both visual curiosity and touch. Her papercut illustrations extend this exploration into layered spaces of light and shadow, where each delicate cut reveals the interplay between fragility, balance, and strength. Guided by her background in graphic design, Ysabella brings structure and clarity to her expressive forms. She is deeply drawn to colour as emotional language, using intentional combinations that carry hidden meanings and subtle moods. Through this synthesis of materials and disciplines, Ysabella creates artworks that are both contemplative and uplifting—reflections of how design, feeling, and form coexist in harmony.

Originally from West Vancouver, Tara Devine is a visual artist currently based in Port Moody, BC. Since 2020, she has participated in juried group exhibitions and other artistic endeavors with local galleries and arts councils in Vancouver’s Lower Mainland. Tara draws inspiration from her family and her natural coastal surroundings. Many of her works use natural elements, colors, and textures; however, she enjoys the creative freedom of experimenting with new materials, ideas, and themes. Tara enjoys celebrating and decorating for the holidays and has created a series of playful artworks including mini festive acrylic paintings, felt acorn ornaments, macrame ornaments and mini hangings, and printed seasonal art cards.

Pressure and heat are key to release the minerals from botanical material like plants and flowers so they will print on paper. Each plant contains different minerals and chemicals that vary in strength at different times of the year. The minerals are deposited on the surface and create an impression through heat, moisture, pressure, and time. Her cards are digital copies of the original, printed on archival paper. Dorothy works in a wide range of artistic media, including acrylics, oils, and watercolour. The Blackberry Gift Shop features a selection of her landscapes, which range from realism to experimental images inspired by imagination, human emotion and our response to place.

LeeChin is a self-taught artist whose art journey began as a form of personal therapy and creative exploration, eventually blossoming into a passion that fuels her sense of freedom and self-expression. In 2024, she showcased her exhibition "Something Blue" at a local bookstore in New Westminster, followed by "Mostly Blue" in 2025. Beyond her canvas work, LeeChin also explores children’s book illustration and seasonal projects, including holiday greeting cards and paper puppet play sets.

I love creating unique things from stuff that would usually be tossed out, like beautiful shell, giving them a second life. I make things inspired by the ocean and that remind me of our stunning BC coast.

Crochet began as a way for me to care for my mind and body while living with chronic pain and fatigue, and it quickly grew into a passion. I've always had a love for purses, so it felt natural to turn that love into creating handmade crochet bags and purses. For me, crochet isn't just a craft - it’s a source of peace and way to connect with others through something handmade and meaningful.

Violet’s kiln-formed glass is clean and contemporary. Her attention to detail and finish and her love of colour, pattern and texture reveal themselves in distinctly unique, functional and sculptural pieces, equally elegant for the office and home. She also creates unique, handmade, sterling silver and glass jewelry.

I have always been interested in working with my hands, some of the things I have done over the years are stained glass windows and ornaments, painting, and recently felting. I started felting 3 years ago and have tried to hone my skills over that time. In the past I have felted items for friends, I feel I am now at the point my work is ready to be shown to others. I trust you feel that way too. When I’m creating a felted piece I use Merino wool roving, a variety of silk roving and top, Maori Batt, wool locks, silk and other natural fabrics. I combine these to create and interesting flow of colours and textures.I quite often take my cues from colours in my garden, and photos I’ve seen.

Rhi Forsyth is an illustrator, tattoo artist, and storyteller from the rainy city of Vancouver, BC. Her work weaves together themes of nature and folklore, drawing inspiration from Nordic design, animation, and the feeling of coming home. She is currently developing her debut children’s book, Oliver the Forest Gatherer, as both author and illustrator, while continuing to tattoo at Bebop Ink on Main Street and sharing her work through local art shows, zines, and community markets.

Andra Galbin-Pristavu (they/he) is a mixed media artist who works primarily with ceramics and found materials. They graduated from Simon Fraser University in 2024 with a Bachelor of Fine Arts and minor in Biological Studies and have been teaching ceramics since 2021. Andra’s work explores themes of trans and queer theory and culture with a focus on visibility and gender performativity. They combine raw materials with found objects to create scenes that combine comfort and discomfort, realistic elements with surrealist feelings. They enjoy the challenge of sculpting highly detailed renditions of personal and intimate objects, as well as bringing to life silly ceramic ideas that bring people joy.

Isabel's early life was spent in New Zealand where her experiences in rural and coastal areas would later influence her choice of painting themes.From a young age Isabel was encouraged to appreciate and engage in art, but it was not until later in life after retiring from teaching that Isabel had more time to pursue painting. She began painting with watercolours and continues to use this medium in her travel journals but now works predominantly in acrylics. Isabel has participated in many workshops, atelier classes, and online classes to improve her skills. Isabel lives in Maple Ridge and is an Associate Member of the Federation of Canadian Artists and the Fraser Valley Chapter of the FCA. She is a member of the Maple Ridge Pitt Meadows Art Studio Tour and Garibaldi Art Club.

Luci’s passion for working with beads started at a young age. Learning how to incorporate the tiny, colourful beads in her designs has been her journey. She particularly likes 3-D weaving and geometric forms and designs. Luci’s interest in chainmail and wire weaving techniques came with time, and currently these three media forms create the basis for her unique, handmade jewellery.

Growing up in Port Moody, The City of the Arts, I’ve always had a passion and affinity for illustration and design. As a self-taught artist, I’ve found joy in working in many different creative mediums. Dilys has enjoyed doing art since a young age and studied urban planning in university. With her background and interest in planning, she is fascinated by the surrounding environment. Dilys’ ink and watercolour sketches tend to focus on buildings, cities, and the urban landscape. She draws much of her inspiration from what she sees and places she has been to or travelled to.

I enjoy how my ceramics connect people. I have had the privilege to hear stories about how my pieces become part of people’s daily lives or special events, whether bought as gifts or self indulgences. Growing up in Canada, surrounded by water, I have lived my entire life near the ocean. I am informed and re-energized by the intertidal edges between land and sea. My current work consists primarily of functional ware such as vases, cups, and bowls of various sizes. Created from white porcelaneous stoneware, each thrown piece is decorated using texture and cobalt inlay. The deep texturing allows shadow and light to play off each other for an additional level of interest on the interior and surface of the work. The Blue & White decoration is influenced by the aesthetic originating in the Middle East and Asia and further developed in Europe after the 17th century. Motifs commonly found on textiles and patterns from nature, be they geometric or organic, inform the decorative aspects of my work. The goal is to create pieces that can be appreciated for their form, colour and feel, and used every day at home.

Laurie carves cottonwood bark into fantasy houses, nightlights, 3-D ornaments and scenery In her home studio & Dogwood Centre woodshop in Coquitlam. Acrylics and pyrography are incorporated into individual pieces. Hand-carving of red, yellow cedar & basswood whimsical pieces can also be found in her creations. Laurie’s inspiration often comes from literary themes, nature, travelogues, architecture photography & the work of master carvers around the world.

My name is Innara Walker, a young artist originally from Coquitlam, BC, in Canada. Growing up in the vibrant Vancouver area, I was surrounded by the breathtaking natural landscape, with its lush forests, towering mountains, and serene bodies of water. My father, an artist and art teacher in Port Moody, nurtured my early artistic development, allowing me to connect deeply with the environment around me.

I'm a Hong Kong-Canadian artist and FX animator based in beautiful British Columbia. In 2014, I left my receptionist job to pursue art at the Vancouver Institute of Media Arts. I graduated with a diploma in 2D Animation and have been working in the animation industry ever since! My personal artwork is whimsical, colourful and playful. They have been exhibited in local galleries such as One More Life, Slice of Life, ACT and Lake Country Art Gallery. Cara Komukai is a teenaged author with Down Syndrome who wrote a children’s book called Rainbow Puppy Daycare when she was 13 years old. The playful story is about two naughty puppies at the daycare and how Cara finds a clever solution to make everyone happy. The story’s lyrical style and colourful illustrations make Rainbow Puppy Daycare a perfect book for 0-7 year-olds. Cara’s book also shows that young people with disabilities have big imaginations and can achieve their dreams with the right support.

Heike Kuzminski is an artist and designer living in Coquitlam with her husband and two sons. Her preferred medium is watercolour and ink. She is inspired by nature, isolating elements and details to create simple and striking compositions. Subjects are typically florals and animals in their natural habitat. Hello my name is Alex; I am a self-taught artist. I am 29 years old I live in an apartment with my brother in Port Coquitlam. I started my journey as an artist when I was in kindergarten. My Mom encouraged me to pursue art. I work at Gabi & Jules bakery as a baker’s assistant. I love my job making dog cookies and other tasks. I use my artistic skills and strengths at Gabi & Jules as a baker’s assistant. I love art, I do clay modelling, acrylic painting on canvas, wooden sculptures, pencil sketching and drawing I my art studio at home. In my spare time when I’m not creating art, I spent time at bookstores, libraries, and thrift stores.

I taught archaeology at universities before retirement. Calligraphy/painting and singing are my lifelong hobbies. I am enjoying these art forms in life and learning them for better understanding and presenting life meanings.Like singing, calligraphy and painting talk. They talk for my perceptions of life from the cultured to the wild, from beauty to mentality. They also talk to each other. So, I am exploring to write Chinese calligraphy with watercolours/flat brushes and use paintings to enliven poems. I see pictures from music and hear melodies from my image works. I tried to link them in the 2023 Vancouver HK Fair, where I sang a song composed by myself in a performance of the Fair, while presenting my calligraphic works related to the theme of the performance.

I’m Arianna Mao, a VFX artist, illustrator and multidisciplinary hobbyist in the Lower Mainland. I create small-scale watercolour paintings, which paradoxically allows me to really focus on smaller details. My desire is for my art to invite people to take a closer look and to examine an object's texture, lustre or simply wonder at the shape and form. My art focuses on the small serendipities of daily life. I create in search of joy and I am inspired by the minute details and the histories of things and places. My art is a chronicle of my discoveries and a diary of my delights. I dedicate a portion of every day to this exploration. To me, creating art and painting are both ritual and craft. When I’m not painting, I’m crafting! I am an avid knitter and a jewellery making enthusiast.

Azadeh is an interdisciplinary artist and instructor specializing in ceramics and was the 2024-2025 Ceramic Artist in Residence at PoMoArts, which included a solo exhibition titled Odyssey of the Rooted Self from July 17-August 31, 2025. Her work explores cultural hybridity, blending Persian art and architecture’s geometric influences with contemporary themes to reflect her diasporic experience. Originally a web developer, she transitioned to art in 2018, earning her BFA with honors from Emily Carr University in 2023. She received the Governor General’s Silver Medal for academic excellence, along with scholarships from the Northwest Ceramics Foundation and Brissenden. Azadeh has participated in residencies at the Shadbolt Center and Medalta and exhibited her work in galleries across Metro Vancouver. Through her ceramics, she bridges historical references with contemporary narratives, sparking conversations about identity, heritage, and artistic continuity.

Nancy Chilcott is a visual artist based in Port Moody, British Columbia. Self taught, Nancy’s artistic journey began with her illustrative watercolor renditions of local breweries. A big hit amongst locals and tourists. However, she has recently returned to her first love, mixed media, where her artistic style blossomed. Always holding nature close to her heart, landscapes became her stepping off point, to bring her distinctive style to life. Her upbringing on the prairies instilled in her a deep connection to the outdoors, inspiring her most recent works that imbue this theme today. Nancy Carol Studio has since evolved, offering a range of art works, including large scale giclee canvas prints, original acrylic canvases, and small-scale wooden panel works. Living in Port Moody she will continue to create mixed media collections that satisfy her internal craving for nature and sharing her works with collectors that feel the same.

I discovered a passion for crafting and started working with resin, creating unique keychains, earrings, and other accessories. Two years ago, I delved into the world of polymer clay, and since then, my earring collection has been blooming with fun and adorable designs. From whimsical shapes to vibrant colours, I pour my heart into every piece I create. Jane finds inspiration for her designs in the beauty of nature, wildlife, colours, shapes and seasons. Her artistic practice has developed from traditional watercolour painting to her present day pursuit of hand painting on silk, needle felting and acrylic pouring. Jane creates one-of-a-kind designs in wearable, functional and abstract art formats.

Pam Zenkawich is a Port Moody artist and graphic designer. She attended the Alberta University of Art and Design, graduating with a Visual Communications Degree. She has studied abroad at Falmouth School of Art & Design (England), Kent State University, and the Emily Carr Institute of Art & Design. The majority of her career was in Graphic Design where she has won many National and International design awards. After twenty-five years as a Principal, Art Director, and Designer, it was time to pursue her creative passion through painting. Pam’s inspiration comes from nature. She starts many of her paintings from her own images and once underway, the intuitive painting process takes over. She talks about how there is a point in each painting where it starts to inform you of what it needs and where it wants to go; transforming the end-result into a piece that evokes emotion and feeling.

From early spring to late fall, you can find Val hand building or sculpting in her Port Moody backyard. She enjoys hiking, diving and skiing. Her whimsical shapes are inspired by nature and ocean adventures. Her work is functional and artistic. A reduction kiln allows the layered glazes to create the waterfall effect appearance. Pots are microwave, oven and dishwasher safe.

I primarily create two dimensional paintings, in watercolours and acrylic in a mainly realistic style. I have been fortunate to study with many excellent artists, including Robert Bateman and David McEowen. I am an active member of the Federation of Canadian Artists and the Port Moody Art Association. Although I have an academic background in freshwater ecology, birds seem to capture much of my attention these days. Most of the paintings submitted are done with watercolour. I have been using UV archival varnish to protect my paintings, rather than glass, and I am very pleased with the results.

Amber Rai is an emerging artist on the west coast of Vancouver. She received her Bachelor of Fine Arts Degree from Emily Carr University of Art + Design, where she continuously experimented with various methods of creating. Amber works as a freelance artist, specializing in bespoke live-painting events for luxury brands. Her paintings encompass the ideas of Surrealism, while implementing a window into the materiality of painting and the unconscious imagination. Amber's style often reflects a break from perfectionism, highlighting the presence of the artist's hand - the brushstrokes, the texture, and the process itself.

Sepideh, a watercolour artist, finds great comfort in escaping her software engineering career to immerse herself in the vibrant world of colours. Her paintings beautifully capture the essence of nature and tranquility, reflecting her passion for creativity and unique perspective on life.

Paul creates functional and decorative art using his fine art photography and a variety of media, such as wood, marble and textured surfaces. He endeavours to capture a special moment and share it with others in his Wall Art Panels, Marble and Wooden Coasters as well as Textured Wood Blocks.

Leah designs and creates hand-made, sterling silver jewellery in her home studio in Vancouver. Her work includes earrings, pendants, rings and cuffs, featuring a variety of texturing and surfacing techniques to add depth and visual interest to her pieces. Some of these techniques include rolling mill designs, acid-etching, and forging. She often incorporates top-grade semi-precious gemstones and pearls.

Lara Shecter is a Vancouver-based artist inspired by the shifting landscapes and stories of the Pacific Northwest. Her paintings and mixed-media works explore the connections between solitude and community, memory and place. She also creates a line of artisan homewares and giftable pieces that bring West Coast colour and narrative into everyday life. Each work, whether a painting, resin artwork, or textile, is crafted with care and attention to detail, offering a distinctive reflection of the region. Lara believes art should provide beauty and connection, whether displayed on a gallery wall or shared as a gift.

Sheila has been an artist since she was a child and can’t imagine life without painting. Her favourite subjects to paint, West Coast landscapes and wildlife, are reflections of the scenes she encounters in her daily life and a heartfelt connection to her northern upbringing and her explorations around BC. Greta creates nature art using preserved moss, driftwood, bark, fungi and preserved foliage. The materials have been dried and preserved so that they retain their colour and texture and can be enjoyed for many years to come and are completely maintenance free. I have learned about salves, soaps and natural remedies from her grandmother, and decided to incorporate those in our lives. Slowly, we replaced chemical products with natural handmade ones. In doing so, our friends and family realized that they love them too and requested we make it available for them as well. And, SoapScapes was born. We have grown from the modest beginnings of a few soap varieties and house cleaners into a company that offers more than 20 different kinds of soaps. Many other products got introduced over the last few years, and we are constantly experimenting with new products

Roshni Naik RYT® 500 is a Canadian-Gujarati yoga therapist, C-IAYT candidate and mindfulness instructor specializing in Trauma-Informed Teaching in Port Moody, BC. Roshni began her yoga journey 25 years ago looking for a more harmonious Mind-Body-Self balance. Before that in 1992, she immigrated from her birthplace of Lusaka, Zambia, to the beautiful West Coast of Canada, bringing a richly diverse cultural background that informs not only her teaching but also, her creative pursuits of botany and soapmaking. In 2019, Roshni found the time and space to deepen her creative practices, taking them to a whole new level. With the ongoing support of SOMA Soap enthusiasts near and far, she now shares her handcrafted creations with her local community through PoMoArts — blending her passions for wellness, nature, and artistry in every bar.

My name is Rosie. I'm an artist and prop builder living in Port Moody and working in the local film industry. I have always loved to create, which is how I ended up in my current job, but I rarely get a say in the design of what I create. In my spare time, I like to make my own art, and fiddle around with techniques and products I don't get to use at work. Entering the Winter Treasures market gives me an opportunity to send little pieces of my own art out into the world.

Hi there! I have been creating artwork for over 30 years and until I attended the prestigious Emily Carr University of Art and Design. I dabbled in any medium that had taken my fancy. However painting had always been high on my list, but I was unable to find the passion that I was striving for, until I took a course in stained glass that changed my life. Finally, I could paint with LIGHT!! That was 25 years ago! The passion for my craft has only grown and developed over time to include new techniques and uses for glass. Now I create anything from one-of-a-kind jewelry to custom designed accents for your home. With unlimited ideas you will always find that perfect piece that will tickle your fancy. The body of my work includes work in the stained glass and fused glass mediums. Stained glass is mainly in the Tiffany Style method of using copper foil. While the fused glass is heated in a kiln up to 1500 degrees to get the desired effect. In both styles I combine crystals, beads, driftwood, found objects, wire and wire wrapping techniques and faceted glass jewels. My creativity has no boundaries, and I create anything that speaks to me from small Christmas ornaments, beveled glass snowflakes, three dimensional pieces and larger window panels.

My name is Maliheh Toobaee, and I have been working as a potter for over twenty years. I mainly use the wheel-throwing technique, and while I sometimes apply glazes, I prefer to keep the natural texture of clay to preserve the authentic identity of pottery. Over the years, I have taken part in many exhibitions and workshops and have taught numerous students. Pottery, for me, is both a craft and a lifelong journey of expression.

Tri-City Potters is a non-profit society founded in 2007 to encourage awareness and learning about the ceramic arts. Their membership includes those who appreciate and collect ceramic art as well as professional and recreational potters and ceramicists. They meet the third Wednesday of each month from 7 pm to 9 pm at PoMoArts. Everyone is welcome to attend, and each meeting includes an artist presentation, planned activity or a short hands-on workshop and time to socialize. Tri-City Potters Society provides member with opportunities to share their experiences with and knowledge of working in clay. They present and exchange information about ceramic art activities, promote learning, creative thinking and artistic growth.

I have a literature degree but instead of studying books, I illustrate them and spend my days creating imaginative worlds for children's books, greeting cards, posters, and other projects. In 2020 Maartje started in a new creative direction. She started taking watercolour studies at Shadbolt. Birds quickly became a favourite subject… but not just any birds! Thanks to her previous career as a fashion display stylist, her birds are well accessorized, sporting stylish shoes and bags. She hopes her whimsical studies are a delight.

Elizabeth takes inspiration from BC’s visual treasures—rockfaces and sunlit gardens, weathered buildings and landscapes. She chooses a painting form and medium that will interpret her feeling for the subject. Many of Elizabeth’s watercolours begin with a random pouring or underpainting, allowing the resultant values and melded colours to suggest shape and subject. She has developed her own style through research and experimentation.

Using resin, acrylic, alcohol inks, and mixed media, she creates vibrant, multi-layered paintings where ink flow and colour converge to form immersive, dreamlike worlds. Her art is both expressive and healing—a chosen language that transcends words and transforms emotions into colour, texture, and light. Each piece invites viewers to lose themselves in the swirling dance of movement and stillness, sparking wonder, introspection, and dialogue. Amy’s practice celebrates the fluid, ever-changing nature of creation, emotion, capturing moments of beauty within chaos. Through her layered process, she seeks to share her unique vision while opening space for others to reflect on their own inner landscapes.

Christine is a Coquitlam artist who has drawn and painted since childhood and is primarily self taught. Her mediums of choice are watercolours and acrylics. She shows on a regular basis in the lower mainland and has had the pleasure of showing her watercolour work internationally in Madrid and in Italy. She is an active showing member of the Federation of Canadian Artists and a member of the Port Moody Art Association.
