A veteran arts administrator, Fatima Amarshi has been leading non-profit charitable organizations for almost two decades.  Her notable accomplishments include tenures as the Executive Director of Pride Toronto and the Vancouver International Jazz Festival.   A woman of South Asian descent, Fatima was born and spent her childhood in Tanzania, East Africa, immigrating to Toronto, Canada in 1986.  She moved to the West Coast 10 years ago and now lives in Port Moody, on the unceded traditional territories of the Kwikwetlem, Musqueam, Squamish, Stó:lō and Tsleil-Waututh First Nations. A lifelong advocate for the arts and working artists, and a recently emerging writer herself, Fatima is thrilled to be working at PoMoArts and is deeply grateful for the warm welcome that Port Moody has offered her.
