Port Moody Art Association presents new works inspired by the landscapes around us, for this juried exhibition. Selections embody the artist’s interpretations of Sea to Sky, and draw attention to the rich and diverse painting styles of their members.
About the Port Moody Art Association
The Port Moody Art Association was founded in 1967 by five artists who wanted to share their passion for painting. Lorna Steeves, Elsie Jones, Lucy Page, Steve Shane and Nora Belton held meetings in the old Port Moody Library, charging 50 cents per week, plus collections when guest artists presented.
Over the years the Club has been involved in many activities: Three months in a store in Lougheed Mall when it first opened; art shows at Stanley Park, the PNE, Rocky Point, Surrey Art Centre, Port Moody Art Centre, Port Moody Public Library; bus trips to galleries in Vancouver and Seattle; local parades; Golden Spike Days; as well as our Annual Show and Sale in November. For their 50th year they embarked upon a very successful major project, the Heron mural, which was donated to the Eagle Ridge Hospital Foundation and is on display in the hospital.
