Open Call for Ceramic Art Instructors
The Port Moody Arts Centre is seeking qualified Ceramics Wheel and Hand Building Instructors who are passionate about teaching and working with clay to join our team!
Housed in the historic Old City Hall and Appleyard House buildings in the heart of Port Moody, the Port Moody Arts Centre is a cultural hub for arts and education. With a mission to promote participation in the arts, we offer a full range of visual, ceramic, theatre, music, and media arts programming for people of all ages and experience levels to explore their creativity. Our small class sizes and inclusive environment give students the opportunity to receive individual instruction from talented instructors, where they are encouraged to learn and develop an appreciation of the arts.
We are seeking proposals from creative, experimental ceramic artists to develop and instruct hand building and/or wheel programs for children and adults. Applicants must have a Fine Arts degree with a concentration in Ceramics or equivalent training and experience, as well as the proven ability to design, plan, and deliver ceramic arts programs.
As a Ceramics Instructor, you will bring a high level of skill, enthusiasm, and fresh ideas that are not currently being offered at the Arts Centre, which you will apply to the teaching of a range of classes, including technical and creative classes for adults, as well as fun and imaginative classes and birthday party activities for children. You should be open to new ideas and be able to continually develop new and inspiring projects that will keep our returning students engaged.
Employment offers are conditional upon receipt of a Criminal Record Check with a Vulnerable Sector Check that is acceptable to the Port Moody Arts Centre.
Pay will be commensurate with education and previous teaching experience.
Applications will be considered on an ongoing basis. For more information, or to submit your application letter and resume, please contact Laura Carey or fill out the form below.
