Hello and welcome to my page, I am a Ceramic Artist
Nicole Smith graduated from Emily Carr University of Art and Design in 2012. Studying drawing, painting and ceramics. Before which, she attained a Certificate in Visual Art from Camosun college, specializing in Pottery. Smith has had the pleasure of apprenticing under many renowned potters in Victoria and the lower mainland. She has worked and taught at a number of Art centres over the last 8 years. Before which she taught English in Taiwan for 5 years. She primarily teaches school aged children, but has adult students as well. No matter what the age, I believe art is an opportunity to learn something about yourself. In my class, you will learn new skills, but most of all, you will have carved out some valuable creative time to connect with earthly elements in a very tactile way. Valuable in our increasingly busy lives.

Samples of my work
My work is all about connection to the earth, and to each other. Through my pottery I strive to create these connections by referencing the natural world from which the clay originates; But also by creating a relationship between the maker and the user. The intimate way in which a cup greets a lip, for example. Most potters do this but all of us do it differently.
