Samples of my work
An emerging artist since 2014, my artistic practice is centered in two-dimensional work including painting and drawing on canvas and paper, as well as textual art and poetic prose, and digitally altered imaging. My creative objective is to refine my artistic technique and creative voice in the genre of urban contemporary art through the mediums of oil and acrylic painting, two-dimensional mixed media, and drawing; to explore how identity is an integrated component of the creative process, and expressed through a negotiation of reflective positioning between artist, subject and audience; to evoke the feeling response that I intuit as a result of this process. I engage with representational, urban, and expressionist styles, and explore topics including identity, gender and women’s issues, and subalternity. I draw inspiration from wildlife, the ocean, the earth.
