Dean Thiessen

Dean is a Vancouver-based pianist, composer, and educator originally from Sylvan Lake, Alberta. Dean enjoys a busy career gigging and collaborating within the local Vancouver music scenes, wedding events, choral groups, and dance groups as well as teaching at the Sarah McLachlan School Of Music. Dean is also a prolific composer, arranger, and bandleader. His arrangements for horn groups and string ensembles can be heard on a number of his peers’ albums and performances. His 15-piece big band ‘The Stranger Friends Orchestra’ was recently featured in the Vancouver International Jazz Festival 2023 with glowing reception. www.deanthiessen.com
